Good to know
February 28 to March 1, 2024 is 2 days, or 3 when including both endpoints. Calendar dates use UTC arithmetic to avoid daylight-saving offsets. Reversed dates return a negative difference.
2024-02-28 → 2024-03-01 = 2
Understand and use your results
Check a project duration or a date before or after a deadline. This is a calendar-date calculation; business days, holidays and elapsed clock time are separate questions.
How to use it
- Choose a date difference or add days to a date.
- For a difference, choose whether to include both endpoints. Use negative days to find an earlier date.
Worked example
2024-02-28 → 2024-03-01
2 days / inclusive: 3 days
2024 is a leap year, so February 29 falls between the dates. The difference is 2 days; counting both calendar endpoints gives 3. Identical dates give 0 days, or 1 with inclusive counting.
Do time zones or holidays change the result?
Dates use UTC calendar arithmetic, so device time zones and daylight-saving changes do not shift the day count. Weekends and holidays are included. Legal or contractual deadlines may use their own endpoint and holiday rules.
