Enter your input and run the tool to see your result here.

Good to know

48 : 180 becomes 4 : 15 after dividing both values by 12. The first number may be zero; the second must be positive. Large integers are processed without floating-point rounding.

For example
First integer: 48
Second integer: 180
FIELD NOTES

Understand and use your results

Reduce two integer quantities, such as dimensions or ingredient amounts, to the smallest pair with the same ratio. This compares their relationship rather than their absolute size.

How to use it

  1. Enter the first and second values as whole numbers.
  2. Keep the result in the same order; width:height is different from height:width.

Worked example

Input and options
48 : 180
Result or interpretation
4 : 15

Dividing both numbers by their greatest common divisor, 12, gives 4 and 15. Likewise, 1920:1080 becomes 16:9. BigInt arithmetic preserves large integers.

Can I use decimals or zero?

The first value must be a nonnegative integer and the second a positive integer. For decimals such as 1.5:2.5, multiply both by the same factor and enter 15:25, which reduces to 3:5.
